Boat launches are located on Transalpine Road, near the culvert that connects the two basins, and Furrough Lane. As for the fishery, anglers report that landlocked salmon and brook trout are the favorites.
With an abundance of coves and five miles of shoreline to explore, the basins are ideal for all types of outdoor enjoyment. Recreational opportunities at Upper Cold Stream Pond seem to have almost no end. You can swim, fish and enjoy motorboating. Off the water, try mountain biking, hiking and much more!
This inspiring pond with its rocky shoreline provides a delightful paddle throughout the entire perimeter and secluded inlets. One of the pond’s highlights is its peaceful atmosphere. It can also be a windblown body of water, so be prepared for choppy waters at times.
Though there’s plenty to do nearby, including Baxter State Park and Mount Katahdin, located an hour away, and Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, located two hours away, chances are you’ll want to spend most of your time on the water.
The pond is located six miles southeast of downtown Lincoln, which has everything you could possibly need, from gift, hardware and sports stores to a variety of restaurants, plus a pub with nightly entertainment. You’ll be charmed by the old-fashioned Main Street.
Play all day. Enjoy million dollar views. And at night settle down by the firepit to share stories, roast marshmallows for s’mores and watch the shooting stars. Fall asleep to the cry of the loons and the sound of the waves lapping the shore.
