Apr. 18-20, Thursday-Saturday, 7:30pm, “The Electric Baby,” presented by The Originals, set in Pittsburgh, THE ELECTRIC BABY tells the touching and funny story of six fractured souls whose lives become irrevocably linked in the aftermath of a tragic accident, and changed forever through their contact with a magical baby. Mystical folklore weaves throughout this darkly comic fairytale of sad endings, strange beginnings, and the unlikely people who just might help you find your way home. Apr. 19, Friday, 4:30-6pm, “Center for Wildlife’s Owl Prowl Series,” this fun event introduces participants to the amazing adaptations of native owls. We’ll meet under our education pavilion to learn about native owl species, their ecology, adaptations, and meet local representatives up close! Apr. 20, Saturday, 8-11am, “Step into a Bird’s World,” are you curious about the lives of the birds around you? Have you ever wondered what they eat, where they rest at night or what they’re saying? This half-day field workshop blends a little bit of bird identification with seeking out bird tracks & sign, interpreting their sounds and understanding their lives. Spend the morning with bird language expert & wildlife tracker Dan Gardoqui to gain a deeper connection to the birds. Participants should be dressed to be outdoors for the entire three hours – regardless of temperature. Dress in layers. Bring snacks and a drink. For adults & interested teens. Apr. 20, Saturday, 5pm-12am, “Jon Richardson and Jason Weber,” enjoy the piano skills of these pianist. Jon Richardson has been playing piano since the age of five. He’s thrilled to be serenading guests with an eclectic mix of showtunes, jazz, folk, pop, as well as music from his favorite group, the Beatles. We will learn about events in the colonizing history of Wabanaki people (the Indigenous people of Maine) and Europeans and their descendants. This is a participatory program appropriate for adults and teens.
