At 1 square mile, the pond covers
196 acres and has a maximum depth of 25 feet with a mean depth of 9 feet. The shoreline of this shallow pond is moderately developed and predominately rocky, though there are a few stretches of sandy beach.
Songo Pond is the source of
Crooked River, which meanders south through the
Sebago Lakes Region to eventually discharge into
Sebago Lake.
A boat access for canoes and car-top boats is located along Route 5. Anglers enjoy fishing for white perch, chain pickerel and smallmouth bass.
There’s plenty to do when you aren’t spending time on the water. Hike the Albany Mountains or in the
White Mountain National Forest. Ride to the summit of Sunday River on the
