June 21, Friday, 8pm, “Lynn Deeves, Trina Hamlin and Colleen Sexton: ‘Women Songwriters in-the-Round’,” three powerhouse, New England songwriters merge their talents and energy for this “in-the-round” evening with Lynn Deeves, Trina Hamlin and Colleen Sexton. Multi-instrumentalists and sweet three-part harmonies with fun and humor, along with insightful, uplifting lyrics. These three women have performed individually all over the US and beyond and come together in Maine annually to “bring the love and joyful noise.” Trina has a degree in professional music from Berklee College in Boston, she has written and co-produced 5 solo albums and performed at the Newport Folk Festival in the company of Ani Difranco, Dar Williams and the Indigo Girls. She has been a guest on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien and her music has been featured on popular television shows on the WB, Lifetime, CBS, ABC and MTV. Trina has shared stages with Taj Mahal, Charlie Musslewhite, John Hiatt and Rickie Lee Jones. Colleen has engaged listeners in clubs, coffeehouses, colleges and festivals. Her CD Greatest Find (Accord Music Group/Distributed nationally by Telarc) features guest appearances by Martin Sexton, Cliff Eberhardt, and Janis Ian. Sexton independently released Colleen Sexton LIVE (Crescent Records), a highly-acclaimed live recording illustrating her range, versatility and ability to connect with an audience. Colleen’s debut CD, Step Outside, garnered two Boston Music Award nominations (1999), putting her among the elite of Boston songwriters. Maine singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist Lynn Deeves honed her stage skills on the New England high energy, rock club circuit of the 1980’s and 90’s. With soulful vocals and an easeful presence, Deeves has released 3 independent CD’s and collaborated on a 4th with Maine songwriting trio “under the song tree,” along with notable Maine performers Anni Clark and Dan Merrill.
