May 31, Friday, 10am-12pm, “Mindful Walk,” this walk will introduce participants to the Seven Points of Awareness. We will practice walking like a fox, seeing like an owl, and listening like a deer. The goal is heightened awareness as we slow down and connect with the life forms around us. This is a peaceful, slow walk to take time to be present to our surroundings. Bug spray, comfortable walking shoes, and a peaceful spirit are helpful. Limited to eight participants. Join this rotating local cast of one comic and 8 improvisors for our very first show at the Maine Repertory Theater in downtown Biddeford and find out for yourself. June 1, Saturday, 12:30-7pm, “Revel in the Meadow 2019,” a daylong, family-friendly arts and music festival featuring authentic music, art, food, beer, and kids’ stuff. Last year we had over 1200 attendees, and this year we’re hoping to double attendance. We’ll add bands, artisans, food & beer vendors to this page as they are announced. We’ll also have student performers between main acts, an interactive music workshop for kids, and a community art project for the entire family. This event is rain or shine. June 1, Saturday, 7:30pm, “Hiroya,” Hiroya Tsukamoto is a one-of-a-kind composer, guitarist and singer-songwriter. He has been leading concerts internationally, including several appearances at Blue Note in New York City. Hiroya has performed, recorded and shared the stage with Esperanza Spalding, The Kennedys, Joe Jencks (Brother Sun), and many others. June 1, Saturday, 8pm, “Acoustic Solo Show with Tommy Tutone,” Tommy Tutone were an early-’80s power pop band led by vocalist Tommy Heath and guitarist Jim Keller. The group’s first single, 1980’s “Angel Say No,” charted on the American Top 40, yet it was 1981’s “867-5309/Jenny” that sent the group to the top of the charts. Peaking in early 1982, the single hit number four and went gold.
