“Winterfest 2016-Tobaggon Nationals,” Camden Snow Bowl

Feb. 4-7, Thursday-Sunday, various times, “Camden Winterfest 2016,” week long celebration of winter with outdoor and indoor activities including ice carving, snow sculpting and the Toboggan Nationals and a celebratory dance with a Maine Mardi Gras theme in various locations around Camden, some free, some fee associated, Downtown, Camden. Feb. 9, Tuesday, 6:30pm, “Historian Barbara Desmaris,” a local historian, cemetery researcher and blogger will be our speaker. Commissioned in 1943, the Brunswick Naval Air Station occupied nearly 1,500 acres of land, a part of which was donated by the town. The remainder of the land was privately owned, creating disruption to the lives of many residents.
