Jan. 30, Saturday, 10am-2pm, “Family Ice Harvest at 19th Century Willowbrook Village,” This is a hands-on participation event in which ice blocks are cut from the Mill Pond at the museum using antique tools. Rides on draft horse pulled sleds will be offered; $5 a ride. Chili, corn bread and chili ( and other goodies) will be available. Our Victorian Kitchen will be going as well as a metal casting class and our two blacksmithing shops. A bonfire will also be going. This is a family event you don’t want to miss. Come early and see draft horses pull an old time snow roller to prepare the trail for the sleds to run on, free, Willowbrook Village, 70 Elm St, Newfield. This is a new book by Sherry Turkle, a sociologist and clinical psychologist and a professor of the Social Studies of Science and Technology at MIT.
