But when one of the guests is stabbed to death, the festivities in this isolated house of tricks and mirrors quickly turn dangerous. Then it’s up to Gillette himself, as he assumes the persona of his beloved Holmes, to track down the killer before the next victim appears. Jan. 29, Friday, 7:30pm, “Comedy Fix XXVIII,” Nick Lavallee, a New Hampshire comedian who’s opened for Andrew “Dice” Clay, highlights a great lineup. Jan. 30, Saturday, 11am-2pm, “Winter Carnival,” Planned activities include ski, snowshoe, and walking tours of the trails, ski instruction, winter biking, snowshoeing, sledding and dog sled rides. The groomed Quarry Road trail system offers trails for all levels and equipment for children and adults will be available. Families can also enjoy exploring the ever-popular “Amazing Tree Maze” and WinterKids story walk. Trailside food and hot beverages will be available and 92 Moose will broadcast live from the event. Attendees are encouraged to visit the Welcome Center Yurt where Friends of Quarry Road volunteers will be on-hand to talk about snowmaking, the ski pass system, and future plans for the area. Adults and children of all ages and abilities are welcome. Jan. 30, Saturday, 12:55pm, “The Metropolitan Opera: Turandot,” Christine Goerke, Lise Lindstrom, and Nina Stemme, three of opera’s greatest dramatic sopranos, take turns in the title role of the proud princess of ancient China, whose riddles doom every suitor who seeks her hand. Tenors Marcelo Álvarez and Marco Berti are Calàf, the brave prince who sings “Nessun dorma” and wins her love. Jan. 31, Sunday, 3pm, “Sing ‘til Spring,” a family concert and sing-along led by dynamic, spirited singers, song writers and guitarists Martin Swinger and Matt Loosigian. His family show brings an inter-generational audience along for a wild ride with call and response songs, participation and sing-alongs that engage listeners in the good old-fashioned fun of singing together. Old and original songs–you never know what to expect next and it’s always something special!
