Humble paint store clerk by day, stallion dance king by night, Tony Manero lives for Saturday night at the disco where each week the nightclub falls under the spell of the disco beat and Tony’s astounding dance routines. When a big dance competition is announced, he convinces the beautiful and talented Stephanie to be his partner. Saturday Night Fever the Musical is based on the 1977 film that became a cultural phenomenon and cemented the Bee Gees as disco era icons with their electrifying score. Oct. 9-11, Friday-Sunday, 8pm/Fri. and Sat, 3pm/Sun, “9th Annual Elizabeth Dunaway Burnham Memorial Piano Festival,” George Sebastian Lopez will open Friday night with a thrilling program celebrating the music of Cuba, George executes the exotic rhythms and fiery tempos of such composers as Cervantes, LeCuona and Touzet with the virtuosity and “kaleidoscopic colors” for which he is known. Irina Nuzova plays Saturday night born in Moscow and a soloist with the Omsk Philharmonic at age 14. Oct. 11, Sunday, 3pm, “DaPonte String Quartet ‘Leaf Peeper’ Concert,” like autumn in Maine, the DaPonte String Quartet’s “Leaf Peeper” concert features music by Mozart, Mendelssohn and Schulhoff that ranges from sunny to tempestuous. Audiences are invited to come early, bring a picnic, and do some leaf peeping of their own with a stroll through the Reserve’s 2,250 acres of salt marsh, freshwater wetland, beach, dune, forest, and field before joining the Quartet in the rustic and charming old barn.
