Sept. 18, Friday, 7:30pm, “Ukelele Player Victoria Vox,” with an eclectic and upbeat repertoire, Vox has gained a wide following via her recordings, appearances on NPR and at Lincoln Center, and tours that have taken her throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Australia. Sept. 19, Saturday, 10am, “Ragged Mountain Scuttle 5K Obstacle Course,” a family event, which features 20 obstacles on a 5K loop on the Ragged Mountain trails, children may try (for unlimited use) a small course at the base of the mountain, highlighted with over 8 smaller obstacles. Participants can sign up as individuals or in a team with 4 or more runners. The event is sponsored by Boston Beer Company and adult participants can enjoy a Sam Adam’s at the conclusion of the event. Participants may also listen to music, enjoy food by Fox on the Run and children can partake in the bounce house. Participants that register online will pay less and also be guaranteed a free tech shirt! This family event is fit for all ages to compete in and enjoy! Runners will not hit fire, ice nor electricity, just the mountain terrain, the foliage and 20 obstacles to climb over, jump on or crawl through. Sept. 19, Saturday, 12-7pm, “Oktoberfest Maine,” Experience the taste of many varieties of Regional Craft Beers and a special brew just for this event by Lively Brewing Co. Listen and dance to Maine’s own Oktoberfest German Band. Play the corn hole toss game, compete in server relays and more. Enjoy music provided by Up Stream Live and the Sweatin Bullets Band. At the Exhibition Hall bring your appetite for plentiful choices of delicious food. You can shop the crafters gallery including a vendor with Oktoberfest mugs and t-shirts. Compete for guys and gals prizes in the keg throwing. Join in the stein hoisting competition officiated by Samuel Adams/Boston Lager.
