The eight-room house has three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Doug, the current owner, tells us that addition to the bedrooms, “We use two pull-out sofas in the living room to accommodate more people. We can sleep ten people this way comfortably.”

Outdoor relaxation is yours on the redwood deck off the master suite and living space, perfect for that afternoon tea or cocktail.

This property is paradise for those who seek solitude. “The best feature of the property is the privacy,” says Doug. “Not only is the house situated on a very private lot, it is also located in a cove that does not get a lot of boat traffic other than some fisherman slowly cruising the shoreline. You don’t have to worry about listening to boats buzzing by all the time ruining the peace and quiet.”

The property is well landscaped and the shore frontage covers 449 feet with views of Zakelo Island and Mount Washington, as well as activities in the cove.

Long Lake, an 11-mile ribbon of blue, is the northern link in the chain of lakes that includes Brandy Pond and Sebago Lake and is bordered by three area towns: Naples, Bridgton, and Harrison.

At 4,867 acres, it is popular with water skiers and boaters. And the fishing is great. Smallmouth bass catches average 2-4 pounds, while largemouth average about 3 pounds, but don’t be surprised by a larger catch. This is a popular lake for bass angling tournaments. Landlocked salmon are also frequently caught here.

Doug says “The best feature of the lake is that it is large enough so you never run out of room to explore. And if you decide to extend your travels you can easily go to Brandy Pond or even go down the Songo River, which connects to Sebago. But unlike Sebago, Long Lake never seems to get too busy with boat traffic. Even on the holidays.”

One of the reasons Doug and his family enjoyed the lakefront house is because of the memories made here. “My favorite memories are watching my two girls grow up enjoying the lake and skiing at Shawnee Peak. Those who are more adventurous skiers can easily travel to Sunday River. We never travelled there because Shawnee Peak was so close and the kids really enjoyed it there.”

Why are they selling this gem? “Because we are building a house in Massachusetts that is situated on 18 acres and has a pond. We realize that even though we love the house in Maine, we will not be using is enough and another family will enjoy it more than we will.”
Now it’s your turn to relax and enjoy life at this lakefront retreat. Give us a call—we can’t wait to show it to you.
