May 16, Saturday, 8am, “Birdwatching for Beginners,” this is a family and kids friendly trip so bring your binoculars and bird guides, a limited number of binoculars and Audubon guides will be available, May is an interesting time of the year and perhaps it will be even more interesting considering the warm weather we have been experiencing. Robins have arrived and in fact many never left, Bluebirds abound at the Arboretum so don’t be surprised to see this beautiful bird during these trips, Turkey Vultures overhead, Chickadees and Cardinals are already broadcasting their mating calls as are the Turkeys found on the grounds here, free, Viles Arboretum, 153 Hospital Street, Augusta.
