Feb. 7, Saturday, 10am-3pm, “Chinese New Year Celebration- The Year of the Ram,” The celebration will open with a Lion Dance performance and the Chinese School students will perform a Dragon Dance at noon. Members of the University of Southern Maine’s Confucius Institute will perform in the afternoon. All day, children will be able to make Ram themed crafts. Vendors will sell books, Chinese teas, Chinese craft items and other products. There will be delicious Chinese food and the Chinese School’s dumpling Dads will sell Chinese dumplings. Feb. 7, Saturday, 7:30pm, “Audrey Ryan,”originally from Bar Harbor and now makes her home in Boston, she currently preforms mostly solo shows as a “one-man band” multi-instrumentalist using electric guitar, accordion, ukele, banjo, vibraphone, glockenspiel, drums and a loop station, a multi-faceted writer and performer Audrey Ryan’s debut record, “Passing Thru”, was released in 2004 and received lots of positive press, she put out a few EPs in 2005 and 2006, in 2007 Audrey put out “Dishes & Pills” under Folkwit Records in the UK. In 2009 she put out “I Know, I Know” which is a collection of one-man-band loop songs, Audrey’s next release in 2011 was a more orchestrated collection of songs entitled “Thick Skin.” She then published the book “The Need to Be Heard” about the music business in in the fall of 2011, her most recent release in 2012 was “Sirens” a collection of older and newer songs she brings her creative energy and wide ranging musical talents, you really have to see her to believe all the music one women can make, $10, Village Coffeehouse of New Gloucester, 19 Gloucester, New Gloucester.
