Nov. 21, Thursday, 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m., “A Wicked Evening,” The Camden Public Library is celebrating the 10th anniversary of “Wicked, the Musical.” A personal appearance by Gregory Maguire, the author of “Wicked, is hosting this event in collaboration with the Farnsworth Museum’s “Land of Oz” exhibit and events, tickets range from $15-$25 per person, The Camden Public Library, 29 Elm Street, Camden. Nov. 21, Thursday, 7:30 p.m.-8:45 p.m., “Rachmaninoff Choir Sings Rachmaninoff’s Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, Rachmaninoff Choir, Directed by Anthony Antolini performs Rachmaninoff’s 1910 Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom in the original Slavonic language, with contralto soloist Amanda Mahaffey and bass soloist Michael Krohn. Originally rejected by the Russian Orthodox Church as too modern, the work has become one of Rachmaninoff’s most beloved choral works, free event, Bowdoin College Chapel, College Street, Brunswick. Judy Collins’ first album, A Maid of Constant Sorrow, interpreted the songs of fellow artists – particularly the social poets of the time such as Bob Dylan, Phil Ochs and Tom Paxton. Judy Collins is also noted for her rendition of Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now” on her 1967 album, Wildflowers which has since been entered into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
