Sparkling Blue Water Against Mountain Backdrop on North Pond in Warren, Maine
North and South Ponds in Warren, Maine offer the
perfect relaxing vacation destination for lakefront property owners. Their sparkling blue water contrasts against the backdrop of mountains, creating
incredible views from land or boat.
North Pond, the eighth body of water in a series of lakes flowing south in the St. George’s River drainage, encompasses 341 acres. The

After settling into
your classic lakefront cottage or cabin, you may want to take a walking tour of historic Warren. Your tour should begin at Woolen Mill Park, where a sign highlights each of the houses on the tour. One such house is by the
Georges River Canal System, one of the oldest canals in the country.
Another local highlight is
Beth’s Farm Market. It’s worth a stop for high quality produce picked fresh daily, including strawberries, blueberries and apples–in season, of course.
The
Oyster River Winegrowers Farm is a horse-powered vineyard on Oyster River Road. Their testing room is just down the road in Thomaston.
A few miles away is the famous
Moody’s Diner in Waldoboro. Whatever you have to eat, make sure you save room for dessert. Think pie! Lots of pie.
And only 15-30 minutes drive will bring you to
Camden, Rockland, Damariscotta and Thomaston, where you’ll find shops, restaurants, theaters, galleries, boat trips and more.
So . . . quiet ponds with great fishing and lots of solitude not far from amenities and the Atlantic Ocean–
you can have it all when you purchase waterfront real estate in Warren, Maine. The ponds are located just three hours and twenty minutes from Boston and an hour and twenty minutes from Portland.
