Webb Lake, Weld, Maine Offers Unsurpassed Scenic Beauty

Scenic Beauty Surrounds Webb Lake in Weld, Maine

Webb Lake in Weld, Maine, is almost completely surrounded by mountains, making it noted for its scenic beauty. Lakefront property owners delight in the tranquil waters and outdoor recreational opportunities. Our favorite time on the lake is in the early morning when we sit on the porch of our cabin and sip coffee while watching only a few fishermen or women find their way through a light mist.

Located in the Lakes and Mountains Region of western Maine, Webb Lake covers 2,146 acres and has a maximum depth of 42 feet. The water quality is average. The principal fisheries are brown trout, smallmouth bass, white perch and chain pickerel. A boat launch is located on the west shore of Mount Blue State Park.

The Webb Lake Association is a non-profit organization whose members are dedicated to protecting the environment in and around the Webb Lake area.

Nestled in a valley created by Mount Blue and the Tumbledown and Jackson Mountains, Webb Lake and the town of Weld offer plenty to do. Extensive hiking trails can be found on Tumbledown Mountain, Jackson Mountain, Mt Blue, Blueberry Mountain and Bald Mountain. All are within a half hour of town.

At Mt Blue State Park, you’ll find a trail network that includes the strenuous hike to the 3,200-foot summit of the mountain, as well as some shared-use trails for ATVs, horses, mountain bikes and snowmobiles. After you hike or ride, you’ll want to take a dip in the lake or relax on the sandy beach.

Other outdoor activities in the area include boating, swimming, blueberry picking in Wilton, and golf at the Wilson Lake Country Club in Wilton.

After a day spent outdoors, we recommend you visit the historic Kawanhee Inn, selected as Yankee magazine’s “Editors’ Choice.” Make a reservation and enjoy a meal served on the porch overlooking Webb Lake.

Let the peaceful forest beside Webb Lake call your name. Consider spending your weekends and vacations at your waterfront cabin, camp or cottage enjoying the scenic beauty that is beyond comparison.
