By land, there are interpretative trails, and other hiking and multi-use trails for public use.The Damariscotta Lake Watershed Association, led by Bill Hill as president and Al Railshack as executive director, is “committed to enhancing the quality of life in and around Damariscotta Lake, assuring enjoyment for all of its natural and human residents.” In September 2009 an infestation of invasive hydrilla was discovered by Dick Butterfield.
