Stop by and meet the characters of Norlands’ neighborhood. Educators, dressed in period clothing, portray a local person or a Washburn, someone you might have met had you visited Norlands in the 1800s. Be a scholar of 1853 in the schoolhouse. The school ma’am will encourage you to practice your penmanship under her watchful eye. Take a tour of the mansion with a Washburn granddaughter as she tells you all about her famous family, A Living History Tour is a fun way, for all ages, to learn what rural Maine life was like in the 1800s. Tour at your own pace. Round out your visit with a nature walk on a historic carriage trail.
