The Ledges Golf Club in York, Maine
Playing golf at The Ledges Golf Club in York, Maine, is much like spending time at your lakefront cottage or camp. Surrounded by wetlands and forest, it’s the perfect escape any time of day.
Opened in 1998, this 18-hole golf course has been
rated #2 in Maine and one of the “Best Places to Play” by
Golf Digest.
The Boston Globe says, “It will rate among the top courses in northern New England.”
The William Bradley “Brad” Booth design is a par 72 layout. The renowned Maine architect studied the
natural terrain, including the rocky hillsides, and accordingly laid out the golf holes.
When you play, expect
rippling water, rolling fairways and fluttering leaves to fill your senses. The views are spectacular and the greens are like velvet.
Four sets of tee markers mean this is a
friendly course for beginners, but provides many unique challenges for experienced players. Some tees are on elevated sites.
Three membership levels have been established, so you can choose one that
meets your budget. Members enjoy participation in the Member Twilight League and Ladies Twilight League, as well as other scrambles and tournaments. A pro shop, practice range, cart rentals and golf instruction round out the services at The Ledges.
Whether you are a
competitive golfer or weekend enthusiast, you’ll find that the cheerful staff is committed to providing excellent service and an exceptional golf experience.
Since there will never be any houses or condos on the surrounding land, we suggest that you consider purchasing
lakefront property to complete your escape. That way, you have a choice–relax on the water or at the course. Why not do both every day!
The Ledges is located
only an hour and a half north of Boston and an hour south of Portland.
