Feb. 20, Thursday, 10am, “Winter Wildlife Day,” a day of family fun celebrating the wildlife of Southern Maine. Enjoy a live animal presentation, a guided walk, hands-on wildlife activities, and fun in the snow. Presented by long-time partners Wells Reserve, Center for Wildlife, and York County Audubon. 10-11am – Center for Wildlife presentation with live animal ambassadors. 11am-12pm – Wildlife activity & craft time. 11:30am-12:30pm – Family wildlife tracking & nature walk with experienced guides. Plus, enjoy sledding, snowshoeing, and snowy fun with hot cocoa for warming up. Bring your own snowshoes and sleds if you have them! If not, we will have some on hand for you to borrow. Feb. 20, Thursday, 5-8pm, “Bess Jacques on the Grand Piano,” Pianist and singer Bess Jacques performs on the Steinway grand piano in the beautiful lobby bar at the Lincoln Hotel. Feb. 20, Thursday, 6pm, “Ghost Ships and Gothic Dream with Leanna Renee Hieber,” join actress, playwright, ghost tour guide and award-winning author Leanna Renee Hieber as she shares the ways in which Southern Maine has inspired her fiction and non-fiction, in forthcoming works like America’s Most Gothic: Haunted History Stranger than Fiction where she discusses the area’s famous Ghost Ships and why she’s using Wolfe’s Neck Preserve as the setting for an upcoming Gothic Novel. Feb. 22, Saturday, 3pm, “DaPonte String Quartet: Hayden & Korngold,” this concert promises to be a celebration of the classical repertoire, appealing to long-time enthusiasts and new audiences alike.
