Nov. 14-17, Thursday-Sunday, 7:30pm/Thurs.-Sat, 2pm/Sun, “Godspell,” Musical: book by John Michael Trebelak music & new lyrics by Stephen Schwartz A small group of people help Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and a hefty dose of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, is employed as the story of Jesus’s life dances across the stage. Nov. 15-17, Friday-Sunday, 7pm/Fri. and Sat, 2pm/Sun, “Windham High School Presents: Sister Act,” Come join us for the musical comedy Sister Act, Broadway style on a high school stage – Windham High School has culminated a cast of talented students under the direction of Rob Juergens, with music direction by Dr. Richard Nickerson, and choreography by Vanessa Beyland. Our version will showcase glitzy costumes (yes even the nuns get glitzy), fantastic sets and incredible voices. Enjoy as some of our seniors including Corinne Ulmer (Delores) Matt Chasse (Father O’Hara) Sophey Potter (Sr Mary Robert) give their all to entertain you. They are supported by additional cast members Emma Chasse (Mother Superior) Will Searway (Eddie Souther) Bradley Collins (Curtis Jackson) plus over 30 other cast members. Nov. 16, Saturday, 8pm, “Harry Manx,” known as the “Mysticsippi” blues man, he has been called an “essential link” between the music of East and West, creating musical short stories that wed the tradition of the Blues with the depth of classical Indian ragas. Nov. 20, Wednesday, 7pm, “2019 Jazz Residency Concert: Jeff Coffin,” the Jazz Residency Initiative presents the 6th annual Fryeburg Academy JRI Capstone Concert, featuring Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Jeff Coffin! Jeff Coffin is a globally recognized saxophonist, composer, educator, and is a member of the legendary and iconic American rock group, Dave Matthews Band. You may also know him from his 14 years, and 3 Grammy Awards, with the genre-defying Bela Fleck & the Flecktones. Jeff fronts his own groups, the Mu’tet, In Orbit, and the Viridian Trio, when not touring with DMB and has released 15+ solo CDs on his own label, Ear Up Records. Coffin is known for his passionate and fiery soloing, his melodically driven compositions, his deep, committed involvement with music education, and his continued dedication to jazz. Jeff is also a Yamaha and D’Addario Performing Artist and Clinician and teaches at Vanderbilt University.
