“The Ghosts of Freeport’s Past,” Mast Landing Cemetery, Freeport

Oct. 24-27, Thursday-Sunday, 6:15pm and 7pm/Thurs.-Sat, 3pm/Sun, “The Ghosts of Freeport’s Past,” for the past 5 years, Freeport Historical Society has partnered with Freeport Players to bring you a series of Halloween-inspired, costumed tours of local cemeteries. This year, we will tell the stories of the ghosts of the historic Mast Landing Cemetery. Join us for a ghostly fall performance and sweet treats from Wilbur’s of Maine. Please note, this event is historical, not scary, and is appropriate for school-aged children. Please note, our performance on Sunday, the 27th will take place at the First Paris Church (40 Main St. in Freeport.) We strongly recommend you purchase tickets in advance as we can accommodate only a limited number of participants in each tour. Mast Landing Cemetery is on a steep incline. Oct. 26, Saturday, 7:30pm, “Suede,” pop/Jazz/Blues phenom Suede will bring her blend of warmth, wit, and musical artistry to the Brunswick Unitarian Universalist Church. Suede has been a headliner with Melissa Etheridge and Sarah McLachlan and was also Joan Rivers’ opening act. Imagine a cross between Adele, Diana Krall and Bette Midler and you’ll have some idea of Suede’s powerful presence, musical talents, and well-honed skills. Suede plays piano, guitar and trumpet, but voice is her first instrument, and entertaining is clearly her first love.
