Aug. 8, Thursday, 12:30pm, “Livermore Soldiers and Washburn Family Members in the Civil War,” Israel Washburn Jr. was known as “Maine’s Little Giant of the Civil War.” He and his brothers held positions that influenced the war, and several of their Livermore neighbors served and lost their lives. Aug. 10, Saturday, 7:30pm, “JigJam,” JigJam are a multi-award winning quartet from the heart of the midlands in Ireland. Aug. 11, Sunday, 5pm, “Comedy Show with Michael Menes,” the Bell Hill Meetinghouse will host an evening for families and others on Aug. 11, starting at 5 p.m. with a picnic outside on the old common at the top of the hill, weather permitting. Light supper refreshments will be available, but those coming should bring lawn chairs or a blanket. At 5:30 the pre-show starts, and at 6 p.m. comedian, juggler and vaudevillian Michael Menes will perform his comedy act: juggling, illusions, comedy. A big city mobster and greedy developers want to take over the Our Lady of Almost Lost Causes Orphanage. But if Father Patrick O’Sullivan and Judy Tremont, the church lady, have their way, bingo will go on as planned and the orphanage will remain in place…maybe? At this mystery, you will actually play bingo as you watch the action and write down clues in hopes of solving any crime that might take place. The action is fast and furious as this bingo hall becomes the setting for a series of unexpected events that might not be resolved by the end of the evening. Be sure to watch your back because you might not know what is hiding in the bingo hall.
