Nov. 23, Friday, 9am-4pm, “Local Craft & Wares Fair,” shop local and handmade for the holiday season from 35+ craft vendors, there is pottery, jewelry, holiday and home décor, handbags, fine foods, toys, knitwear, natural bath and beauty products and much more, free, The Event Center at The Bethel Inn Resort, 21 Broad Street, Bethel. Nov. 23-25, Friday-Sunday, 5-8pm/Fri, 9am-5pm/Sat, 11am-4pm/Sun, “Festival of Trees,” local businesses, organizations, groups and individuals will donate a fully decorated artificial tree and the general public can view all the trees. Raffle tickets will be on sale for those who wish to take a chance at winning their favorite tree. The Chamber’s tree at this event will remain a donation drop-off location for the Christmas for the Kids and Christmas for Teens program. People will also be able to take tags off the donation tree to purchase gifts for local children. Commerce will host its annual Christmas Parade and Festival of Trees. The Christmas Parade will be Saturday, November 24 at 11 a.m. and starts on the corner of Whitman and Main Streets in Norway and runs to Market Square in South Paris. This year’s theme is “Christmas Time.” Santa and Mrs. Claus are expected to make an appearance at the event after the parade and again on Sunday, Twin Town Plaza, 243 Main Street, Paris. Nov. 24, Saturday, 9:30am-3:30pm, “Stone Mountain Holiday Market and Fair,” a little fair, a little festival, and a little market kind of atmosphere to kick off the holidays. Our hall will be decked out all right! We will have all kinds of booths full of shopping ideas from crafts to repurposed items, to food, to Christmas themed wares. As always the SMAC girls will be serving up lots of holiday cheer and sustenance. Plus LIVE music. Nov. 24, Saturday, 7:30pm, “Married with Chitlins,” an acoustic music duo that performs Traditional American music, Old Time Country and Blues, some Jazz standards and Celtic reels and jigs. The band is mainly guitar and fiddle with a strong female lead vocal with harmonies. Chris spent 30 years in music production/engineering in Boston with over 1000 titles to his credit including numerous Boston Music Award winning artists, a Ken Burns documentary soundtrack, touring as bass player and recording in a band with Ben Orr (the Cars), recordings and live sound support for Peter Wolf (J Giles Band) and Studio support for Carly Simon and Don Was. He and Liz now homestead off the grid. New recordings forthcoming were performed in their solar powered studio. With five solo albums to her credit Liz cut her teeth as a performance artist steeped deeply in the blues.
