Nov. 28, Wednesday, 6:30pm, “Bruce Robert Coffin Author Talk,” Bruce Coffin is back to read and discuss his highly anticipated third novel, Beyond the Truth. This latest addition to the John Byron series has been described as “a superbly realistic, tense, and exciting novel” and “first-rate; suspenseful and highly entertaining.” Discouraged by an unfulfilling and frustrating college creative writing class, Coffin didn’t start writing until much later in his life. But this long incubation period gave way to tight investigative thrillers that capitalized on his law enforcement background. He is a former detective sergeant with more than 27 years of law enforcement under his belt. By the time he retired from the Portland Police department, he supervised all homicide and violent crime investigations for the city of Portland. Books will be available to purchase from the author, free, Freeport Community Library, 10 Library Drive, Freeport. FMI: 207-865-3307, www.freeportlibrary.com.
