Nov. 9, Friday, 7pm, “Novel Jazz Septet,” performing classic jazz out of the Great American Songbook, the performance will feature Bill Manning (drums), Dave Clarke (guitar), Mickey Felder (piano), Herb Maine (acoustic bass), David Harris (reeds), Barney Balch (trombone), and Michael Mitchell (trumpet). This version by Libby Appel is, in her words “absolutely a labor of love”, fueled by a lifetime of devotion to Chekov’s plays. Nov. 10, Saturday, 10:30am-12pm, “Brunswick’s 8th Annual Rolling Slumber Bed Races,” businesses and local organizations create a bed to race in this amazing, fun-filled event. The Rolling Slumber Bed Race will entertain spectators with fast, funny and uniquely created beds-all on wheels. Nov. 10, Saturday, 7:30pm, “UUCB Concerts for a Cause: Honest Millie,” drawing from years and years of rehearsing vocal harmonies in various combinations including Sweet, Hot & Sassy and Swing a Cat, Honest Millie joins together members of these groups for some stellar harmony singing and strong instrumentation. Four gals, Valerie on upright bass, Agnes on piano, Lee on sax and clarinet & Ellen on violin, with the spice of Jim on guitar, enjoy bringing you music from the 30s, 40s and 50s.
