Oct. 27, Saturday, 12-3pm, “All Souls’ Walk,” the Brick Store Museum will once again make spirits come alive for one afternoon for its All Souls’ Walk! The popular Halloween event is now in its 15th year. Continuous tours will explore Hope Cemetery every 20 minutes. The narrated historical walks cover a half-mile loop through Kennebunk’s Hope Cemetery, lasting approximately one hour. Costumed interpreters portray the historical figures, and share their stories of love, loss, and fate. Not too spooky, it’s a perfect activity for the whole family. Participants visit more than a dozen gravesites and learn local history through the fascinating and often tragic tales of residents from bygone eras. Tours conclude back at the Museum, where guests are invited to enjoy cider and treats while viewing the museum’s fall exhibitions, including the opening of “Art in Fashion.” Tickets can also be purchased on the day of the event. No advance reservations are required, except for large groups. Oct. 27, Saturday, 8pm, “An Evening of Dan Fogelberg Music by Don Campbell Band,” Maine singer-songwriter Don Campbell honors his musical hero with an evening of Dan Fogelberg songs and stories. Singer-songwriter Dan Fogelberg was a multi-platinum selling recording artist, with hits such as “Longer,” “Leader of The Band,” and “Same Old Lang Syne.” As a fellow singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Don Campbell has always considered Dan Fogelberg a huge influence and musical hero. Oct. 28, Sunday, 2pm, “Pasco Lecture with Maine Author Paul Doiron,” a special visit with Maine Author and Game Warden, Paul Doiron. Paul is Editor Emeritus of Down East: The Magazine of Maine, having served as Editor in Chief from 2005 to 2013, before stepping down to write full time. A native of Maine, he attended Yale University, where he graduated with a degree in English, and he holds an MFA in creative writing from Emerson College. He is a former member of the Maine Arts Commission and a current member of the Maine Humanities Council. He is also a Registered Maine Guide specializing in fly fishing and lives on a trout stream in coastal Maine with his wife, Kristen Lindquist. A supposed hunting accident becomes a dangerously complicated murder investigation in this intricately-plotted new thriller featuring Maine Game Warden Mike Bowditch. A woman has been shot to death by a deer hunter on an island off the coast of Maine. To newly promoted Warden Investigator Mike Bowditch, the case seems open and shut. But as soon as he arrives on remote Maquoit Island he discovers mysteries piling up one on top of the other. The hunter now claims he didn’t fire the fatal shot and the ballistic evidence proves he’s telling the truth. Bowditch begins to suspect the secretive community might be covering up the identity of whoever killed Ariel Evans.
