July 13, Friday, 7:30pm, “Droplet Dance,” Choreography, dancer, musician Molly Gawler,  Gawler’s Droplet Dance weaves story and song into colorful threads that connect every heart and bring about awareness of water in our world. All choreography is by Gawler, and she is often joined in performance by her husband Lao Gillam. “Cyr wheel”is the vehicle for droplet dance, in which flow with the natural movement of spirals and gravity imbued with the spirit of water itself. The music is of the people, and most often is created live by local tradition folk musicians from Maine, particularly Molly’s family: The Gawler Family Band. Molly also plays fiddle, banjo and sings in The Gawler Family Band as well as her trio of sisters, The Gawler Sisters. July 14, Saturday, 1pm, “Muddy Marsh Ramblers at the Norway Music & Arts Festival,” bluegrass, created by and for the community, the Norway Arts & Arts Festival is an annual event held in July in Norway, Maine. The Festival’s mission is to celebrate the arts—ALL THE ARTS—and the creative community that brings it to us, as well as honoring Norway’s local history. All Festival events are free and open to all ages and take place on or near Norway’s historic Main Street. July 14, Saturday, 7pm, “Daniel Strange & Ashley Liberty: Hot Fiddle 2,” Maine natives from this area and are beloved favorites of local audiences. Ashley and Daniel are known for their skill at multiple genres of music, including classical, jazz, rock, swing, and of course fiddle! They have both accompanied numerous Broadway and classical performers, including Norm Lewis, Sutton Foster, Andrea Bocelli, Noel Paul Stookey, and Bernadette Peters. Ashley and Daniel reside in Miami but have graciously agreed to perform this benefit concert while home during their summer vacation. For those of you who attended last year’s sold out Hot Fiddle concert, this show will feature some of the favorites and new arrangements too.
