July 5 and 10, Thursday and Tuesday, 8pm, “Mystery for Hire,” In Lights, Camera, Mystery! by Dan Marois you are welcomed to Hollywood’s grand night for the presentation of the “Gimmie” Awards. The stars are out in full force ready to cut each other’s throat in order to win the coveted award. July 6, Friday, 7:30pm, “High-Jinks-Virtuoso Juggler Michael Menes,” Menes will be presenting his solo show “High Jinks”, a hybrid of world-class juggling, physical comedy, illusion, and interactive arts. The show features nimble antics and high-flying comedy. His shows have been seen by over 200 million people through appearances on international TV special like CCTV’s “International Humor Festival” (China Central TV) and “Le Grande Cabaret du Monde” in Paris, France. He has also performed for Cirque du Soleil, Royal Caribbean, at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, and at the Shanghai International Comedy Festival. July 7, Saturday, 11am-5pm, “Bridgton’s 250th Birthday Bash,” A re-enactment/boat processional at Shorey Park on Highland Lake as participants festoon their boats with patriotic decorations. Following the boat processional, docents from Narramissic and the Bridgton Historical Society, dressed in period garb, will lead a Historical Stroll down Main Street, pointing out noteworthy buildings, as revelers parade with them in costume. A number of events will follow on the grounds of the Community Center on Depot Street, featuring live music from Bold Relief; food vendors serving barbecue, tacos and burgers; demonstrations from artisans and craftspeople: and activities for children.
