May 24-25, Friday-Saturday, 7pm/Fri, 7:30pm/Sat, “I Think I Love You: A Romantic Comedy,” when a couple goes from “I Do” to “I’m Done”, the jilted wife (Footlights Favorite, Gretchen Wood) suddenly becomes a very popular prospect for the single men in town. Hilarious efforts to win her heart ensue and the pursuit of “love ever after” is not as easily achieved as one may think. May 25-28, Friday-Monday, 10am-4pm, “Lilac Festival at McLaughlin Garden,” the lilacs should be at peak bloom and there are still drifts of wildflowers–bluebells, trillium, anemone, merry bells, and (fingers crossed), ladyslippers! A woman with numerous children to support surrenders one of her new born twins to the childless woman she cleans for. The boys grow up streets apart, never learning the truth but becoming firm friends and falling in love with the same girl. One prospers while the other falls on hard times. May 26, Saturday, 8am-3pm, “Plant Sale,” it’s Spring planting time, and there’s no better place to purchase a variety of healthy annual flowers, vegetables, hanging and potted plants than at the Maine Wildlife Park, off Route 26 in Gray, on Saturday May 26th through Memorial Day.On Saturday and Sunday, the plants will all be available for purchase in the wildlife park parking lot from 8:00am-3:00pm, so no admission fee is required. You can support The Friends, and the Park directly with your purchases! Starting Monday, Memorial Day, plant sales will continue inside the park until they are all gone. May 27, Sunday, 7pm, “The Seacoast Wind Ensemble,” a Sousa-style 50-piece band – has been underwritten by retired Air Force officers, Lt. Col. Jim and Col. The concert program will honor area Veterans and provide a musical salute to thank those who have and continue to serve in the armed forces.
