Apr. 12, Thursday, 6:30pm, “Author Talk: Mary Lawrence,” author of the Bianca Goddard mystery series, will speak about her latest book Death at St. Vedast. Set in Tudor London during the final years of Henry VIII’s reign, the Bianca Goddard mystery series follows Bianca, the daughter of an infamous alchemist, in her pursuit of science to create medicines to help the sick. Along the way, Bianca must deal with a most unhealthy dose of murder and mayhem. Doctor Henry Jekyll’s experiments with exotic “powders and tinctures” have brought forth his other self-Edward Hyde, a sensualist and villain-free to commit the sins Jekyll is too civilized to comprehend. When Hyde meets a woman who stirs his interest, Jekyll fears for her life and decides to end his experiments.
