Nov. 17-18, Friday-Saturday, 9am-2pm, “A Touch of Christmas,” the event will include homemade jewelry, children’s hats/mittens by church members, children’s clothing and toys, The Bakery, The Linen Closet, The Cookie Walk, Trash and Treasurer, Odds and Ends, The Book Library, MCC Cookbooks, Youth Group’s RADA cutlery etc. You Name it and I bet we have it! “MCC Café” will feature a new seasonal favorite lunch of toasted lobster rolls in addition to our yummy hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and hot dogs, chips and drinks. Also, 10-themed raffle baskets and several different merchant gift cards will be raffled off on Saturday. Nov. 17-19, Friday-Sunday, 7pm/Friday and Saturday, 2pm/Sunday,“The Addams Family Musical,” ‘Buh buh da do *snap* *snap*’… The MHS Players bring that classic tune from The Addams Family to the stage. The dark humor of this dysfunctional family reminds us that love conquers all. Wednesday trades her pigtails for an engagement ring and hilarity ensues when her boyfriend’s Ohioan family meet the dark and sinister members of the Addams clan. Storms, ghostly ancestors, rhymes, the color yellow, and love?! It’s all there for the older fans of the 1960s t.v. show to reminisce over while introducing younger members of the audience to the darkly comedic family, $10. $5/students & seniors, J. Nov. 18, Saturday, 8:30am-2pm, “Gingerbread Fair, The fair will feature our famous themed gift baskets and homemade pies. Silent auction offers art, antiques, and gift certificates from Orphan Annie’s, local salons and restaurants. Also available are handmade crafts, custom wreaths, baked goods, jewelry, books & CDs (sorry, our White Elephant is in the spring). Nov. 18, Saturday, 7:30pm, “Invitation: Origins of American Musical Styles,” explores the origins of American musical styles and their influence on tradition compositional forms throughout history. Highlighting Carol Barnett’s “The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass,” in collaboration with the Bluegrass music Association of Maine, other works include the complete “Old American Songs” by Aaron Copland, canons, catches, and rounds by Kirke Mechem, and selections from “The Harmony of Maine (1792)” by Supply Belcher, the “Handel of Maine,” Colby College Collegium, Colby College Chorale with the Colby Kennebec Choral Society directed by Eric Christopher Perry, free, doors open at 7pm, open seating, Lorimer Chapel, Colby College, Waterville. Nov. 19, Sunday, 2pm, “The Seagull Play Reading,” Aqua City Actors Theatre (ACAT) continues its Between the Lines play reading series with The Seagull by Anton Chekhov, in partnership with the Waterville Public Library and Waterville Creates! This play dramatizes the romantic and artistic conflicts between four characters: the fading actress Irina Arkádina, her son the playwright Konstantin Tréplev, the famous author Boris Trigórin, and the ingenue Nina. Reading these four leading roles will be Marie Cormier, Michael Pullen, Bart Shattuck and Emilienne Ouellette. Seven other readers fill out the ensemble cast. Nov. 19, Sunday, 2pm, “An Afternoon with Paul Sullivan,” Grammy award winner Paul Sullivan has enjoyed a richly varied and distinguished career as a composer and a pianist. He will perform his compositions and share how he came to write them.
