May 26-27, Friday-Saturday, 8:30pm, “Ten Bucks Theatre Dramatic Play Readings: Macbeth and Something Wicked,” Ten Bucks Theatre Company is spending a weekend with Macbeth; Shakespeare’s classic tale of murder, magic and mayhem, the company will present a staged reading of The Bards’ infamous “cursed” text, the following evening, Saturday, May 27th, the company will present a reading of Something Wicked, a modern interpretation of Macbeth, Something Wicked is a brand new play written by Maine native and successful New York based actor, Kristen Seavey, free, Black Box Theatre, RM 224, Class of 1944 Hall, UMaine, Orono. May 29, Monday, 8-11:30am, “Birding by Canoe,” Rad Mayfield will guide the group along Pushaw Stream to take inventory of feathered migrants. It all begins with a brief introduction on migratory birds over breakfast. We will take two 28’foot canoes (seat 12 persons each) to explore the shores of Pushaw Stream. Time permitting will take a look at the Alewife making their way over Pushaw Dam, reserve by May 27 to reserve a paddle and seat, meet at the Parker Reed Shelter, Hirundo Wildlife Refuge, 1107 West Old Town Road, Old Town. May 29, Monday, 10-11am, “Memorial Day Parade,” the annual Memorial Day Parade in Milo will form at the American Legion Post Home on West Main St., Milo. The parade steps off at 10:00am and proceeds the the bridge on Main St. for the Naval ceremony. From there, the parades continues to the Evergreen Cemetery for the placing of wreaths at the Civil War, WWI and WWII monuments and further ceremonies and speakers.
