Feb. 10, Friday, 6pm, “Eastern Trail Full Moon Walk,” Meet the group at the rear of the Southern Maine Health Center parking lot in Biddeford. Learn about the plants, trees and wildlife along the trail. Learn the history of the Eastern Trail. The walk takes approximately 90 minutes. Feb. 10-11, Friday-Saturday, 7:30pm, “Exchange Street,” performed by Storm Warnings Repertory Theatre, Sunrise to sunset in Portland, Maine. Like many picturesque old port towns, it grapples with very real, modern issues. EXCHANGE STREET zeroes in on one day in the lives of its residents and visitors told in a series of seven stories. For the audience, EXCHANGE STREET creates an opportunity to exchange old points of view for new and find surprises at every turn. Feb. 11, Saturday, 10am, “Family Ice Harvest on Mill Pond,” involves hands-on participation in cutting and harvesting cakes of ice with antique tools on a picturesque mill pond. There will be two teams of Belgian draft horses on hand giving bobsled rides, $5. There will homemade chili and cornbread, hot cocoa, coffee and goodies for sale. Come out and learn about the future of this museum. The Curran Homestead Village headquartered in Orrington, ME was recently gifted the former Willowbrook Museum that includes some 20 buildings and over 10,000 objects from Maine’s rural past, free, 19th Century Curran Homestead Village at Newfield, 70 Elm Street, Newfield.
