Dec. 15, Thursday, 7:30pm, “Winter Fantasy Concert,” Join Windham Hill recording artist and 3-time Grammy® nominee David Arkenstone for a magical evening of festive original and traditional holiday tunes. Often compared to Yanni and Mannheim Steamroller, David’s music has long been synonymous with the holidays, with his albums like Christmas Spirit, Celtic Christmas, and Christmas Lounge. Dec. 16, Friday, 7pm, “Mystery of the Christmas Star,” Journey back 2000 years as we seek to discover a scientific explanation for the Star the wise men followed to Bethlehem . Investigate possible dates for the birth of Christ and look at recorded sightings of significant historical and astronomical events during this time frame. We’ll explore scientific explanations for celestial objects that could have been remarkable enough to cause the wise men to travel across the desert from Babylon. Regardless of what the star was, the message of Peace on Earth and goodwill to all still rings true today! Dec. 16-17, Friday-Saturday, 7pm/Fri. and Sat, 2pm/Sat, “A Christmas Story,” Based on the humorous writings of author Jean Shepherd, the beloved holiday movie was made into a play by Philip Grecian. It follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker in his quest to get a genuine Red Ryder BB gun under the tree for Christmas. Ralphie pleads his case before his mother, his teacher and even Santa Claus himself, at Higbee’s Department Store. Dec. 17, Saturday, 7pm, “2nd Annual Winter Solstice Singing Ritual,” This amazing event will bring us into the darkness and back up into the light with song, readings, candlelight and more celebrating the Winter Solstice.
