“Christmas by the Sea,” Camden

Dec. 1, Thursday, 9am-3pm, “Holiday Bazaar & Wreath Sale,” More than 100 arrangements of coastal Maine greens, seashells, pinecones, and other natural materials gathered from the woods, fields, and shore of the Midcoast are created by the Mid Coast Hospital Auxiliary volunteers and sold at the one-day event. Christmas treasures and special items decorated for the holidays will be available, including wreaths, lighted boxwood trees, decorated antique sleds, wooden skis, oars, and snow shoes. Breakfast and featured lunch specials will be available for purchase. Traditional homemade baked goods, as well as plates of assorted cookies, fudge, and candy packaged for gift giving will also be sold. Accompanying the Holiday Bazaar is the Mid Coast Hospital Auxiliary Annual Wreath Sale. Again this year, the 24”, double-sided, Forest Cone and Coastal Seashell wreaths, decorated with a red bow will be available for $30 each. Dec. 1-4, Thursday-Sunday, 7pm/Thurs.-Sat, 3pm/Sun, “Oliver,” music, lyrics and book by Lionel Bart. In this musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’s classic novel, orphan Oliver Twist navigates the underworld of Victorian London, searching for a loving home and falling into a gang of child pickpockets led by the conniving Fagin. Dec. 2-Dec. 4 and 7, Friday-Sunday and Wednesday, 12-6pm/Wed.-Fri, 10am-2pm/Sat.-Sun, “Handmade Art and Craft Show,” Waterfall Arts’ annual Handmade Art and Craft Show and Sale returns to the Clifford Gallery on Friday, December 2nd, with a glittering opening party: everyone is welcome to attend. The juried show includes work from over one hundred artists and crafts people from all over Maine and some from a little bit beyond the border. The proceeds from sales benefit both the vendors and Waterfall Arts. Finely made glass, ceramics, jewelry, prints, drawings, paintings, sculpture, specialty foods, soaps, tea, cards, textiles, journals, vintage treasures, home furnishings, décor, calendars and more are included in the show. Efforts have been made to keep prices low; almost all the items are under $100 with the majority well below that. There is truly something for everyone at the Handmade Show. The opening night party, on December 2nd from 5 to 8 pm, will be merry occasion with refreshments from Moody Dogs and other vendors. The gallery will be decorated and stuffed with exceptional merchandise and the Bridge Art Studio will be open for hands on activities.
