Oct. 28, Friday, 5:30pm, “Halloween Potluck & Scary Readings,” The Opera House will be decorated for the Halloween season, awaiting the arrival of hundreds of community members for the annual community potluck dinner and evening of scary readings. Please bring a main dish, side dish, salad or dessert, with plenty to share, in addition to a serving utensil. Also, please remember to bring a plate and fork for yourself. The Opera House bar will have beverages available, please do not bring your own. Wear a costume, or not. Following dinner members of the community will read stories and passages frightening, unsettling, scary and more. Oct. 28, Friday, 7:30pm, “Dahlov Ipcar’s Favorite Folk Songs & Ballads,” This concert is inspired by “A Mural of American Songs” that Dahlov designed in 1939 for a building in Washington, DC. Performers include Bob Zentz & Jeanne McDougall, Nor & Eli Dale, and Charlie Ipcar & Alison Freeman. Are all these mysterious and unfortunate happenings just coincidence? Or is there more to “The Curse” than we know? Oct. 29, Saturday, 7:30pm, “Cul de Sax,” saxophone quartet will perform a concert around the theme of Climate Change.
