July 28, Thursday, 5pm, “Wiscasset Art Walk,” Ooh la la! Don your beret, pocket your favorite French novel, and take une marche to Marston House, 101 Main St., for an Old World marketplace. Long-time shop owners Sharon and Paul Mrozinski will create an outdoor marketplace, a brocante, stocked with their carefully selected antique French furnishings and textiles including bed and kitchen linens, French kitchen enamelware, and antique French serving dishes and utensils. According to the Mrozonskis, “We look for antique homespun textiles and furnishings from the 18th and 19th century that appeal to our design esthetic. The more an item has been used and repaired, the more we tend to love it.” Featured in Martha Stewart Living, Country Home Magazine, the Boston Globe, and many other publications, Marston House – and the Mrozinskis – are a Wiscasset treasure. Other sidewalk events during the evening will include a wheel-throwing demonstration by Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts, garden-fresh floral bouquets hand-picked by members of the Garden Club of Wiscasset, strolling musicians, and art, art, art throughout the Village. Park your car once and enjoy an evening full of sensual delights: look at paintings and sculpture, listen to music, smell the floral bouquets, taste specialty foods and wine, touch vintage fabrics, and learn about 18th century shipping in Wiscasset – all within the several blocks of Wiscasset Village, Wiscasset Village, U.S. Route 1, Wiscasset.
