July 22-23, Friday-Saturday, 7:30pm, “The Unexpected Guest,” set in a foggy estate in Wales, this quintessential mystery thriller opens when a stranger, after running his car into a ditch, walks into the house looking for help. Instead, he finds the owner of the estate shot dead, with his wife standing over him, holding a gun. From there, the plot twists and turns with Christie’s trademark delicious aplomb. Suspects and suspicions abound and old grudges are dredged to the surface as each member of the isolated household comes under scrutiny, and all try to discover who among them is the murderer. July 23, Saturday, 9am-3pm, “Annual Blueberry Fair,” a long-standing success over the years, The Blueberry Fair will feature the work of over 40 artisans and crafters from all over New England, they will offer a variety of art objects including paintings in different mediums as well as sculpture, photography, jewelry, pottery, porcelain and stoneware ornaments, hand-painted silk scarves, soaps, wood products, and much more, the Kennebunk Public Library will also be selling used books, the Fair will also include a special children’s corner with entertaining musical activities planned, lunch will be held between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and be offered both indoors and outdoors. On the menu will be New England Chowder, Crab Rolls, Hot Dogs and condiments plus a variety of Vegetarian selections from Frinklepod Farms as well as blueberry pie, blueberry muffins, pastries, and ice cream, a Queen Charlotte Kayak, now on display at First Parish UU, will be raffled off as part of the festivities, raffle tickets are $10 apiece.
