June 24, Friday, 7:30pm, “VoXX: Voice of Twenty Concert,” the mid-coast a cappella ensemble VoXX: Voice of Twenty announces its 2016 summer concert series. VoXX’s program, “Music of the New World,” features works from the 16th century to the present, sacred and secular, and explores the unique musical history of North America. June 24, Friday, 7:30pm, “English Folk Duo,” Keith Kendrick and Sylvia Needham will perform English songs of land and sea in concert, The England-based duo has been praised as being among the finest interpreters of traditional English songs. Four decades of performing have taken Kendrick and Needham all over the U.K., Europe, the U.S., and most of the globe. In addition to their recorded work, they have been featured on the BBC and are a celebrated fixture at folk festivals around the world. England’s Folk Mag magazine has acclaimed them for “breathtaking harmony work that leaves the listener gasping.” Drawing from a wide-ranging repertoire, the duo’s performances combine humor with a deep respect for the songs and tunes of their native land. June 25, Saturday, 7pm, “Vivaldi’s Four Seasons,” Six skilled musicians will present a unique multimedia performance of Antonio Vivaldi’s Four Seasons at the Broad Bay Congregational United Church of Christ in Waldoboro. The performance will feature Sophie and Josie Davis of Waldoboro and Maya French on violins, Nate Martin on bass, Colin Wheatley on viola, and Jaime Feldman on cello. The event will pair music with projected images of the beautiful Medomak River watershed through the seasons.
