Nov. 13, Friday, 4-8pm, “Downtown Bangor Arts Show,” all are invited to participate in this Artwalk’s community mural “Color the Season” taking place at COESPACE throughout the evening. Musical group Divisi will perform Downtown. Use the map to navigate and visit open studios, including those gems off the beaten path. The featured poster artist for this Artwalk is Anne Dubois, who uses thick swaths of oil paint and then tears, scratches, and scrapes new worlds into being. She states, “Each painting is a new world, a new idea, and a new space to explore.” Visit her studio on Friday located at 27 State St. Downloadable versions of the Artwalk map and additional information can be found online at http://dbac.org. Il (iL) Trovatore,” In a remarkable career spanning six decades in the theater, Giuseppe Verdi (1813–1901) composed 28 operas, at least half of which are at the core of today’s repertoire. Salvadore Cammarano (1801–1852) was one of the foremost librettists of his day. He collaborated with Donizetti (Lucia di Lammermoor, among others) and wrote the text for La Battaglia di Legnano and Luisa Miller for Verdi. After his death theTrovatore libretto was completed by fellow writer Leone Emanuele Bardare (1820–after 1874). Soprano Anna Netrebko’s dramatic and vocal skills are on full display in her next new role at the Met—Leonora, the Verdi heroine who sacrifices her own life for the love of the gypsy troubadour. Tenor Yonghoon Lee sings the ill-fated Manrico, baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky is his rival, and mezzo-soprano Dolora Zajick is the mysterious gypsy with the troubled past. Angela Meade sings Leonora in later performances. You may sell your wares but the emphasis is on tying & rod building. Each tyer will have an 8′ table and a chair. Power is available but please bring an extension cord and light (if you need one).
