June 25, Thursday, 8pm, “Carbon Leaf,” debuted as an independent college band in 1993, eventually leading to a recording contract with Vanguard Records in 2004, resulting in three albums during their six years with the label. Along the way, Carbon Leaf has scored hit singles at AAA and Hot AC Radio with “Life Less Ordinary” and “The Box”; placed first in the International Songwriting Competition for “the War Was in Color”; was the first independent band to ever win an American Music Award; and in 2010, recorded the music for Universal Pictures Curios George 2 soundtrack. June 25-28, 8pm/Thurs, Fri, Sat, 2:30pm/Thurs, 3pm/Sat, 2pm/Sun, “Victor, Victoria,” a woman pretending to be a man pretending to be a woman! It’s Paris 1934 in all its glitzy glory. Victoria is a down-on-her-luck nightclub singer until she is convinced by a gay impresario to masquerade as a female impersonator, “Victor.” Hilarity and confusion ensue when Victor becomes an overnight sensation in the night clubs of Paris and attracts the attention of a macho Chicago gangster – much to the dismay of his ditsy girlfriend, who gets dumped for Victor… or is it Victoria? The musical comedy is based on the hit Blake Edwards film that starred Julie Andrews, Robert Preston and James Garner, and includes an electrifying and moving score by Henry Mancini, the original Broadway and touring sets by Robin Wagner and costumes by Willa Kim. June 25-27, Thursday-Saturday, 8pm/Thurs-Sat., 2pm/Fri, “Nunsense A-Men!” the Little Sisters of Hoboken are faced with a dilemma when Sister Julia, Child of God, accidentally kills fifty-two sisters with tainted vichyssoise. After burying forty-eight nuns, The Little Hobos still have four sisters in the freezer, and no money for their burials. They plan a benefit that will display the divine talents of Mother Superior, a former circus performer, Sister Mary Hubert, second in command, Sister Robert Ann, a streetwise nun from Brooklyn, Sister Mary Leo, a novice dancing her way to holy grace, and Sister Amnesia, who lost her memory when a crucifix fell on her head. June 25-27, Thursday-Saturday, 8pm, “Unnecessary Farce,” two cops, three crooks, eight doors, in an economy motel room, an embezzling mayor is supposed to meet with his female accountant, in the room next door, two undercover cops are supposed to catch the meeting on videotape, but there’s some confusion as to who’s occupying which room, who’s watching the video, who’s taken the money, who’s hired a hit man, and why the accountant keeps taking off her clothes, enjoy homemade desserts at intermission, $30, Hackmatack Playhouse, 538 School St., Berwick. June 28, Sunday, 7pm, “Wild Summer Film Series,” is based on Cheryl Strayed’s memoir “Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail”, this film chronicles one woman’s 1,100-mile solo hike, starring Reese Witherspoon in an Oscar-nominated performance as Cheryl, the movie is full of beautiful scenes throughout the Pacific Northwest, through flashbacks, we learn of Cheryl’s mother’s death, her nasty divorce, and her reckless sex and drug abuse that lead her to make the trek.
