Master Bedroom

The open-concept layout of the kitchen, dining and living room creates a light and airy atmosphere, enhanced by a sliding glass door and lots of large windows. Knotty pine cabinets in the kitchen are complemented by black appliances. In the living room area, you can enjoy a toasty fire in the woodstove—perfect to cast away the chill of a summer evening or warm your toes by in the winter.

A house with four bedrooms is a find. Three share a bath and the master suite has its own. Imagine yourself enjoying a good book while settled on the window seat of the master bedroom—or maybe you just want to enjoy the views and sounds from this spot. Make it your quiet place.
Jill and Stanley purchased the house in 1992. She tells us that they liked the private lot, views and location. “It has easy driving access,” says Jill, “because it is just off of a quiet town road—this is important in the winter, because you can depend on being plowed out.”
Nestled in the pines, the setting is priceless. From the deck, you can feel the summer sun burst through the majestic pines. And in the winter, the wonderland includes views of snowcapped Pleasant Mountain. Any season of the year, there are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy on Moose Pond, which has above average water quality. And then there’s the hiking—with four well-marked trails on Pleasant Mountain, plus many others in the area. And skiing—think Shawnee Peak.
Jill says that the best fishing on Moose Pond is right off the dock. What other wildlife have they seen over the years? Loons, and needless to say, herons, turtles and frogs, chickadees, pileated woodpeckers, blue jays, robins and hawks, red squirrels and even a fox. “An osprey once sat in a pine tree bear our deck as I had my morning coffee,” says Jill. “Interesting to make eye contact with a very large bird of prey.” We also know that bald eagles are frequently sited on the pond.
Pond is a bit of a misnomer for this 11-mile long body of water that extends from Denmark to the south, north through Bridgton to Sweden. “Our family loved our times on the lake in Maine,” says Jill. “From telling ghost stories and cooking marshmallows around the campfire, to laying out in the boat and watching the meteor showers in August, sailing, canoeing, waterskiing, wakeboarding and tubing. Our favorite day is taking the boat out to anchor near one of the beaches in the area of Camp Wyonegonic, swimming and reading your book  — when it is just you and the loons.”
She notes, “The BEST thing about Moose Pond is that there are no big boats due to the low bridges—it is never crowded and is ideal for water sports.”
There is a shed on the .76-acre property with almost 300 feet of water frontage. If Jill and Stanley were to keep it, they would consider adding another garage to accommodate boats.

So why are they selling, you wonder. In Jill’s words, “Our adult children would love for us to keep this property and we could see enjoying times with the grandchildren — but our daughter and her husband have busy careers in Manhattan and it is difficult for them to get to Maine easily.”
That’s good news for you. Check it out—discover the peace and beauty of this lake and mountain setting, plus the convenience of being within minutes of Bridgton. The house is located one hour from Portland and three hours from Boston.
Any time of the year—this house is waiting to provide you with a perfect lakefront destination.
