“L/A Ice Festival,” Lewiston/Auburn

Feb. 20, Friday, 7:30pm, “Music at Colby: Musical Offering,” brings together Boston-area musicians who share a love of performing late-18th-century chamber music — from the last throes of the High Baroque through the wildly emotional gallant period leading up to Mozart, Lorimer Chapel, Colby College, Waterville. Feb. 20-22, Friday-Sunday, 5-9pm/Fri., 5-9:30pm/Sat., 11am-2pm/Sun., “Ice Festival L/A,” features over 15 ice sculptures and 5 ice bars as well as a giant igloo outdoors in the Bates Mill Fountain Park Courtyard. Live ice carving demonstrations will take place, a DJ will spin contemporary and classic music, and specialty food trucks will serve those interested in purchasing food. Inside the Bates Mill Atrium, local non-profit culinary arts school The Green Ladle and some of the best local restaurants in L/A will serve patrons small samples of their local bites of food (3 food tickets are included with your purchase), and live music from a wide range of fantastic local and regional bands will play, $15, Fountain Park, 150 Mill Street, Lewiston. Feb. 22, Sunday, 10am-2pm, “Sled Dog Racing,” the Maine Highlands Sled Dog Club will be racing at the Arboretum. Teams from all over the state will be competing in skijor class, junior class, 4 dog class and 6 dog class-all will be run on a 4 mile trail. All along the trail there will be excellent viewing for spectators. Races begin at 10am and finish up around 2pm.
