Dec. 31, Tuesday, 2:30pm-12:30am, “ New Year’s by the Bay,” this is a yearly town-wide grass roots celebration that takes place on New Year’s Eve, chem-free, family oriented, affordable, cultural celebration of the New Year, mostly in 9 indoor venues within walking distance, showcasing a wide variety of live performances, as well as several dance bands, one button admits you to all performances & activities of the New Year’s By The Bay 2014 chem-free, family friendly celebration. Dec. 31, Tuesday, 6-9pm, “New Year’s Event with WRFR,” the DJs at WRFR invite the community for New Year’s Eve refreshments (non alcoholic) and DJ’d music, live shows will be broadcast during that time starting with contemporary French music on Pardon My French with Carol Ann Pretzel from 6-7pm.  From 7-8pm will be funk, rock, and beer news on Pretzel and Beer with Barry Pretzel.  The night will conclude with indy rock and electronic music on Jo and Cheech’s Hour from 8-9pm with their special guest Jason Dean.  Dean, a pro drummer of fifteen years, is the founder of Berenice records which showcases underground indy rock an electronic music from Midcoast Maine to NYC, free, WRFR studio, 20 Gay Street, Rockland. Dec. 31, Tuesday, 8pm-12am, “New Year’s Eve Dance Party,” the Chocolate Church Arts Center in Bath is hosting a REAL New Year’s Eve Dance Party, with live bands, dance performance, refreshments, champagne toast at midnight, and more (plus a cash bar). The event is a benefit for the Chocolate Church and will feature the rock band “Hollow Body Eclectic” (Peter Alexander, Sheldon Bird, Tom Masucci, & Johannah Harkness), performing a danceable and high energy mix of original songs and classic rock numbers.
