Pleasant Mountain
Follow the red blazes as you ascend the Fire Wardens Trail up Pleasant Mountain. The trail is shaded and occasionally features a cool stream. Do wear sturdy shows as this trail has quite a few small rocks. The summit features an old fire tower and 180 degree views of the White Mountains. Unless you’ve parked a second car at another trail head (there are several options in neighboring Bridgton and Denmark), follow the same trail back to your car.

Jockey Cap
This short hike offers big views from the summit. Local lore has it that an Abenaki healing woman named Molly Ockett camped in the cave-like rocks at the base of this mountain. The back side of Jockey Cap was home to the first ski lift in Maine, though evidence of it is long since gone. Today, rock climbers are often seen ascending the wall of the mountain. At the summit, a range-finder erected in honor of Arctic explorer Admiral Robert E. Peary helps hikers identify over 30 surrounding peaks.
