Sept. 19-22, Thursday-Sunday, 7:30pm/Thurs, Fri. and Sat, 1pm/Sat. and Sun, “Patience,” musical by Gilbert and Sullivan, all the society ladies in the village are in love with two aesthetic poets but the poets are in love with Patience, the village milkmaid, who cares nothing for poetry. The young ladies’ military suitors see no point to aesthetics but give it a try to win their hearts. Sept. 20, Friday, 7:30-9:30pm, “Piano Series: Frank Glazer,” Bates College Artist-in-Residence Frank Glazer has performed solo recitals in two dozen countries and has appeared all over the world with orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic, the Chicago and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestras, the Residentie Orchestra of the Hague, and the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande. We are delighted to have Frank launch our Piano Series for the 2013-14 season. Glazer’s repertoire included more than 35 different concerti (that’s plural for “concerto”). He also has extensive credits in chamber music performance. He has been featured as guest of many leading chamber music groups and was also a founding member of the Eastman Quartet, the Cantilena Chamber Players, and the New England Piano Quartet, Franco American Heritage Center, 46 Cedar Street, Lewiston.
