“Civil War Re-enactment,” Norlands

7-9, Friday-Sunday, 7:30pm/Friday and Saturday, 2pm/Sunday, “Blythe Spirit,” Aqua City Actors Theatre (ACAT) presents Noël Coward’s BLITHE SPIRIT. Smash comedy hit of the London and Broadway stage, the ingenious plot tells how novelist Charles Condomine invites Madame Arcati, an eccentric medium, into his placid country home in order to learn the language of the occult for his new novel. A séance summons back the ghost of Charles’ first wife Elvira, whom only he can see and hear. June 7, Friday, 2:30pm, “Dear Mr. Longfellow,” the Maine State Library is pleased to host author Sydelle Pearl for a discussion regarding her latest book, “Dear Mr. Longfellow — Letters To and From the Children’s Poet,” Sydelle Pearl has written numerous books, but her latest endeavor features correspondence to and from Henry Longfellow, Pearl will give an engaging talk about her research and her insights into the famous poet. June 12, Wednesday, 6:30-8:30pm, Denny Breau & Friends: Pickin’ for Pettingill, Denny Breau will be headlining an acoustic concert called “Pickin’ for Pettingill” to help raise money for the Friends of Pettingill, a citizens’ committee recently organized to create a 2-acre community park at the site on College Street in Lewiston of the former Pettingill Elementary School, which was closed in 2008.
