Contemporary Cape on Parker Pond, Fayette, Maine: Neat as a Pin Lakefront House

Spectacular Contemporary Cape on Parker Pond in Fayette, Maine

A pristine contemporary cape on Parker Pond in Fayette awaits your arrival. Let this lakefront property at 84 Fellows Cove Road be your secluded weekend getaway or year-round home.

Turnkey, the 1,787 square-foot house is trimmed with many fine features including hardwood floors, a cathedral ceiling, family room and two full bathrooms. The master bedroom, a second bedroom and a family room are located on the finished lower level. On the first floor, you’ll find the open concept kitchen, living room and dining area. Step outdoors and you’re on a sun deck overlooking the pond. The third bedroom is on the second floor. The house is architecturally designed for comfortable living and perfect for entertaining.
The wooded lot slopes gently toward the water. Built in 2003, the current owner tells us, “We wanted something that took advantage of the lot, and built it so that you walk in at the entertainment level, with the bedrooms below, and a walkout and second deck below. The house has met or exceeded all of our expectations. The reason that the deck is not a straight 10 feet from the house was that we had to follow the shoreline, and needed to be back 90 feet from the water. The conservation commission wouldn’t budge on that.”
Located on the equally pristine Parker Pond, this property invites you to relax by the water’s edge or spend the day playing in or on the water.  At 1,610 acres with a 15.8 mile perimeter, Parker Pond is full of islands, coves and peninsulas, yet it’s relatively undeveloped. The water quality is well above the state average.  Among the owners’ favorite activities–floating on the lake with family or friends on their River Rat inflatable tubes and sitting on the deck sipping a glass of wine while watching the sun set.
An avid gardener, the current owner says, “In the summer the grounds come alive with flowers and is truly beautiful.” The grounds also come alive with bird song. Bird feeders hang at eye level from the upper deck, where you’ll have plenty of opportunity to observe “loads of goldfinches, rose-breasted grosbeaks, chickadees, nuthatches, blue herons, king fishers, scarlet tanagers, Baltimore orioles, bald eagles, hummingbirds, and of course, loons. The loons have a feeding route and around 5:30 they go around the cove feeding, often in groups of 6-8, and they come within 10 feet of the dock.” It’s like having your own private showing on a daily basis.
The space, both in and outdoors, provides plenty of room to entertain family and friends. Off the dock, the lake is about twelve feet deep, just right for jumping or diving into the crystal, clear water.
When you do spend time on the lake, you’ll surely get to know your neighbors. They especially enjoy July 4th. The owners tell us it’s party time:  “All the neighbors are there, one of the neighbors is a DJ and plays music and takes requests from around the lake. Everyone hangs out on kayaks or canoes or inflatable tubes. At night, the neighbor across the cove puts on a fireworks show that beats the town displays. Pretty awesome to watch from the dock.”
Don’t get the wrong impression–for the most part this is a quiet lake. People enjoy kayaking, canoeing and motor boats, but the Association doesn’t allow jet skis.
If you are in the market for a waterfront home that is neat as a pin and located on an equally pristine lake, then this open concept cape on Parker Pond should be on your “Must See” list.
