Rustic Log Cabin Retreat For Sale on Brandy Pond, Naples, Maine

Cozy Log Cabin Beside Water on Brandy Pond in Naples, Maine

Along the water’s edge of Brandy Pond in Naples, Maine, sits a cozy lakefront log cabin that is for sale. The sunset, mountain and pond views immediately attracted the current owners to this 950 square-foot house at 25 Bentwood Street. “We have views of the entire pond looking straight up toward the Causeway and beyond to the beautiful mountains,” comment the owners.

Brandy Pond is the middle of three interlocking lakes that cover more than 35,000 acres combined. The pond has long been the link between Long Lake and Sebago Lake. Encompassing 733 acres, Brandy Pond has a maximum depth of 44 feet and an average depth of 16 feet. It was originally called the Bay of Naples.
Naples is a picturesque village that is home to the Songo River Queen II, an authentic replica of a Mississippi paddle wheeler, unique shops, the Maine Blues Fest and the Mountainview Woodies Classic Boat Club Antique Boat and Car Show.
The owners purchased the cabin in 2009 because they liked the log cabin exterior and the uniqueness of the interior–knotty pine walls, high ceiling and three-season porch that overlooks the pond. The cabin has six rooms, including three bedrooms plus an open-concept dining/living/kitchen. A fieldstone fireplace compliments the space and adds to the cozy atmosphere. The furniture is included in the sale. The master bedroom and a second bedroom each have a double bed, while the third bedroom sports built-in bunks. Overall, the house is simple, easy to clean and free of clutter–a definite space to escape to.
The pond is delightful for swimming, kayaking, waterskiing, tubing and boating. And from the large outdoor deck, dock or shoreline, you can sunbath and read. Or take a nap in the hammock strung between two trees beside the waterfront. Friends will stop by via boat to say hi as they come from Songo River, which connects Brandy Pond to Sebago Lake.
Evenings at the cabin are perfect–gather your family and friends to grill on the outdoor fieldstone barbecue and either sit around the open fire pit by the water’s edge or on the three-season porch. After a day full of vacation activities, imagine all of you with a cool drink in hand enjoying the scenery while listening to the cry of the loons or watching an eagle soar. In fact, the current owner says, “The sunsets are amazing. I stay around our home until the sun goes down and then I go out.”
The owners have some local favorites for dinner–Rick’s Cafe, is a family-style restaurant with decks overlooking Long Lake. Other favorites for a bite to eat include Black Bear Cafe, The Galley Restaurant, Bray’s Brew Pub, Merced’s Restaurant, and the Naples Lobster Pound, plus Black Horse Tavern in neighboring Bridgton. For breakfast, their favs include Top of the Hill Grille and Chutes Cafe.
This rustic log cabin on Brandy Pond is the perfect escape for a romantic getaway or an active weekend with family and friends.
